Squire Hotels are now recruiting for an ambitious and driven graduate to join their team on the Squire Hotels Management Programme starting in July 2017.

Squire Hotels is an independent hotel group with three hotels located in Preston, Windermere and Manchester. The successful graduate will undertake a 4 month placement in each hotel. Spending the final 6 months working alongside the senior management team.

What to expect from the Management Programme:

The programme is designed to expose the graduate to the fast pace and dynamic nature of the industry. The programme will provide the graduate with the operational skills to become a successful Manager in the future. The key focus of the programme will be in the following departments; Housekeeping, Reception, and Food & Beverage.

What training opportunities are there for you:

You will have access to a calendar of internal training sessions including access to the Squire Training Academy which consists of the following hands on workshops; Reception Academy, Housekeeping Academy, Food and Beverage Academy , Sales Academy and Squire Management Academy

You will also undertake external training including First aid and a Personal License Holder course.

Opportunities after the programme:

On successful completion of the programme you will be offered a supervisor or management position at one of our hotels.

• A business, hospitality, leisure or tourism degree with a 2:1 or expected 2:1 or higher

You will be confident and able to provide consistently high standards of service whilst supporting your manager and team to continuously improve the guest experience. In return we offer the opportunity for progression in a busy and varied hotel operation.

Prior experience in a hotel is preferred although full training will be given

SAMLESBURY HOTEL - Food & Beverage Supervisor

Best Western Plus Samlesbury Hotel, near Preston, comprises of 80 bedrooms, with conference and event facilities and an extensive food and beverage offering. We are looking for a passionate, experienced and dedicated Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team.

As Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will have at least 1 years’ experience of supervision/managing an operation. As part of the Food & Beverage team you will be responsible for maintaining consistent standards of service and ensuring guest satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports organisational values. With your main focus on service delivery you will contribute to the profitability of the Hotel through the operation of effective cost controls and stock monitoring.

You will have previously worked in a supervisory position within a similar environment and developed excellent knowledge of food, wine and beverage. You will possess high standards of service and have the enthusiasm to up sell and recommend products appropriately. You will convey the hotel’s image and atmosphere through your exemplary attitude, leading by example with full team accountability throughout your shifts. The ideal candidate will be a hands on Food & Beverage Supervisor with excellent attention to detail.

Duties include:

Delivering excellent customer service

Working within the operation leading initiatives to improve sales & profitability

Supervising the restaurant, bar, conference & function operation within the hotel

Supervising & managing weddings & events

Duty Management cover

Support with planning the rota's, forecasting, budgets

Supervising a team

This is a full time position and requires flexibility as you will be required to work evenings and weekends, duty management shifts are an integral part of this role and you will be expected to manage shifts in all areas of the hotel – bar, restaurant, conference, weddings & events. SAMLESBURY HOTEL - Night Receptionist

Best Western Plus Samlesbury Hotel, located near Preston has 80 bedrooms, with state of the art conference and event facilities and an extensive food and beverage offering. This is an exciting time to join the team and we are looking for a passionate, experienced and dedicated individual to join our Front Office team.

We currently have an opportunity to join our Front Office Team as Night Receptionist. The successful candidate will be part of a team achieving high standards of customer care following the hotel’s policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Reception this role involves the checking in and checking out of guests, carrying out shift accounting procedures, maximising sales revenue and dealing with customer enquiries plus other hotel responsibilities during the night shift.

You must be well presented and have excellent customer and communication skills. You will be able to work as part of a team as well as showing your own initiative whilst also displaying exceptional standards of customer care at all times. Previous experience working on nights and as a Hotel Receptionist in a similar property is an advantage, along with knowledge of Guestline reservation system.

Hours of work are 40 hours per week. You must be flexible in your working days as your shifts will involve weekends.

SAMLESBURY HOTEL - Chef De Partie

Ideally you will have some or all of the following skills:

Experienced running your own sections & service of a fast paced busy kitchen

You will need to be enthusiastic with a keenness to progress and add to your knowledge and skills

Have experience in all parts of the kitchen

Have high standard of food preparation and be able to monitor the quality of the dishes

Have knowledge of all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures

Supervise other kitchen team to ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered to

Adhere to procedures in place concerning quality control, stock rotation and dietary requirements

Be a great team player

Be passionate about customer service.

HYDRO HOTEL - Receptionist

The Hydro Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere is changing, the first phase £1MIL refurbishment has started and the hotel has now re-opened.

If you are passionate and enthusiastic, have a unique style and personality that shines then we want you!

We are looking for Reception Front of House Hosts who are experienced, passionate & service focussed and have experience of working in a hotel reception/front of house role previously.

Duties include:

·Acting as a point of contact for guests, dealing with any queries both in person and on the phone

·Gets to know regular guests and takes steps to personalise guest stay to build guest loyalty

·Promotes upgrades and upsells hotel products and services where appropriate to drive revenue

·Has full knowledge of hotel facilities and services as well as those in the local area

·Managing the check in and check out of hotel guests

·Cash handling / processing payments

·Making bookings for guests and agencies accurately to ensure information is correct

·To greet all guests on arrival and ensuring all our guests have a memorable stay

The ideal candidates will be well presented, have high work standards & work well in a small team

You will be required to work weekends so a flexible approach is required. Live in accommodation is also available if required.
